SOME REAL FRUITING PIONEERS!

The real Henderson Luelling came to Oregon from Iowa in 1847, bringing with him hundreds of fruit trees.  He established his nursery in 1848 near Milwaukie, Oregon. His brothers John (from Iowa) and Seth (from Indiana) arrived in Oregon in 1850.  For more information on the Luellings (also spelled Lewelling) see the following websites:

HAZELNUTS, TOO!

Henderson Luelling was also involved in the early days of Oregon's Hazelnut production.

AND DON't FORGET CHERRIES!

Henderson's Brother, Seth, is credited with introducing the Bing cherry.  Today there is an elementary school named after him.
